GEREMI NJITAP, PRESIDENT OF THE INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION OF PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALLERS HAS BEEN RE-ELECTED AS AFRICA'S PRESIDENT.

Geremi Njitap, a former Indomitable Lions midfielder, has been re-elected to the top of the African Division of the "Fédération Internationale des Footballeurs Professionnels (FIFPRO)," often known in English as the International Federation of Professional Footballers or the World Players' Union. During FIFPRO Africa's recent General Assembly in South Africa, he was voted president of the African Division's Board of Directors. His term spans from 2021 until 2025. Geremi Njitap will also serve a second term on FIFPRO's worldwide board. Along with Khadija Timera, he will represent Africa on the global board.

“I am proud to continue to represent Africa in the global board, proud to be accompanied by Khadija Timera, who testifies to the willingness of our continent's members to embrace diversity and inclusion, while not hesitating to open up to civil society. Africa is on the move, strong and united” According to FIFPRO's official website, Geremi Njitap made the statement. The former Indomitable Lion now gets the opportunity to show off his diplomacy away from the pitch. Providing long-term answers to all of the problems facing professional athletes throughout the continent is a thankless task for him. FIFPRO Africa's board members were chosen by the General Assembly, which appoints directors for each FIFPRO division. SYNAFOC's Cameroonian representatives Geremi Njitap, Magdy Abdelghany, and Thulaganyo Gaoshubelwe, as well as newcomers Herita Ilunga (UFC, DR Congo) and Desmond Maringwa (FUZ, Zimbabwe), and Khadija Timera (SAFPU, South Africa) remain on the board (ANFPG, Gabon). Didier Drogba is the Honorary President of FIFPRO Africa.
