INSPIRING NOVELS: THE WHITE MAN OF GOD

The White Man of God is a novel written by the late Kenjo Jumban, who was an author, activist , and intellectual. The book was widely received as a literature element in most private boarding and public secondary schools in Cameroon. The novel is one of English-speaking Cameroon's most important novels of the 1970s.

The White Man of God is a novel that is set in the Nkar village of the North West Region of Cameroon. In the novel, the author chronicles the struggle of a young boy who strives to understand and embrace the differing and distinct world views that existed in his village at the time, which included Christianity and Tradition. It definitely highlights the dilemma faced by a lot of Africans who strive to be devout christians, yet believe immensely in their traditional cultures.
